No Description resized to 300 pixels wideGrant's Martial Arts heald its first class on April 1, 1994.  It started as a traditional school that taught self-defense, forms and point sparring to it's students.  At the time the school opened it was not affiliated with any particular style or system and that remains true until this day.

What is Grant's Martial Arts today?

Grant's Martial Arts is a school that teaches students how to protect themselves or their loved ones if they are ever attacked.  Most people come to our school in search of confidence.  Weather you have a little confidence when you step into our school or a lot, you always have more when you leave.  Also we train our students to manage that confidence and use it productively in postive leadership positions

Our school has grown and matured with age.  We now teach a curriculum that is unique to Grant's Martial Arts that is base on three separate disciplines; Kick boxing,  Hand to Hand Combat and Grappling.  Each of those disciplines are influenced by many areas.

What is Grant's Martial Arts?

By Gary Grant Jr.

I began my training at age 8 years old when my mom brought home a gift certificate for 2 free lessons at the local karate school.  I had been begging my parents to take lessons after failed attempts at baseball and basketball.  When my dad took me for me and my brother for our first lessons, I loved everything I saw.  Even though I had a great experience it wasn't exactly what I had expected and what I necessarily wanted.

Grant's Martial Arts is my vision for what martial arts should be.  The emphasis in training is on building disciplined a confident students who know how to defend themselves.

No Description resized to 300 pixels wideOur physical building is a lot of wide open space, a big boxing ring in the middle of the floor, an area that is completely padded and an area that is beautiful maple hardwood floors.  We have a weight room, plenty of heavy bags, speed bags, double end bags as well as assorted equipment.

Our curriculum is made of up karate, kickboxing, hand to hand combat and mixed martial arts.  We have gone through great lengths to trim away all the fat from our curriculum and give the student a practical experience with immediate benefits.

Our programs are designed with all ages in mind and we split all of our Level 1 classes in to age groups.  We tailor these classes to suit the needs of each individual age group and its unique learning style.

The beginner who is in our group lessons for the first time experiences a great workout along with improved confidence in the ability to defend themselves.  The intermediate and advanced student get to refined those ability and their over all skill level.
