Gary Grant gets Licensed!
Gary Grant Jr., the head instructor and founder of Grant's Martial Arts Inc. has once again been licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of State Athletic Commission a a promoter! His license is good for all of 2007 and Mr. Grant plans on promoting 4 full contact kickboxing shows and 2 multi event karate tournaments! Visit Tournaments and Shows for more information!
Master Grant The Student
Master Grant recently traveled to Lake Erie to bring Master Larry Roiz to Northeast, PA. The focus of Master Roiz's stay was to teach Master Grant a kata called Mukashi No Kin Ryu or "The Ancient Golden Dragon." Master Grant spent at least two hours a day between Tuesday and Saturday learning the kata. While in town Master Roiz conducted seminars at Grant's Marial Arts on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon and also traveled to Williamsport to conduct a seminar at Master Warren's School. All seminars were focused on self-defesne. Footage from the classes will be available as part of the Online Curriculum, coming soon.

This is a small in school tournament for students from our school.All children who are members will have at least one event to compete in.We will have self-defense divisions, combination of technique divisions, synchronized forms, forms and weapons divisions.There will be a limit of three competitors in each division and we will award gold, silver and bronze medals.We will follow the competition with a pizza party and awards ceremony!
Parents need to fill out the form below and send it in with the entry fee, cash or check made payable to Grant's Marital Arts Inc.The entry fee will cover all spectators!

Grant's Martial Arts Announces Fight Night!
Grant's Martial Arts Inc. will hold it's first full contact kick boxing card on March 3rd, 2007 at 6:00. We have many returning fighters like Jamie Trusa, Lenn Galli, Shawn Haines, Jack Wall and Josh Thomas. We are also wecloming at least three new gyms; Jacks Gym, Deleware, High Energy Fitness, Tunkhannock, and Jack Sanlin's Gym, Philadelphia. This year's tournament season is going to be very exciting.The students of Grant's Martial Arts have never been in a better position to demonstrate their abilities on the open tournament circuit.We have put together a few incentive packages to help you be successful on the circuit this year.
On February 17th we will hold an "in school" tournament at our school just for our students and a few of our friend's students.We will keep the divisions small and award medals to the winners of each division.
We are recommending six tournaments this year:

For our students, if you compete in tournaments a, b and c listed above, you can compete in the GMA karate open for free!If you compete in d, e and f, you can compete in the Northeast PA Competitor Classic for free!
If you compete in a, b, c, d and e, as well as our 3 school tournaments than f is free!
Money saving tips: (Using these money saving tips you can compete in all 9 tournaments on this sheet for less than 250!That is less than $28 per tournament.)
a.Pre register for all events, this gives you the lowest entry fees, plus added bonuses like free t-shirts or high seeding.
b.Look at number 4 and 5 for in school incentives!
c.Karate World members receive $5 of at every event they enter.
d.Car pool and share hotel rooms when necessary.
e.Compete in as many events as possible at each tournament, at least weapons, forms and sparring (This keeps the cost per division low!)
f.Parents can save on entry fees by volunteering to score keep.

KO Round 2!
Jamie Trusa had a rough night in Fleetwood on Saturday the 29th of January.He was stopped in the second round by a fighter named Anan from "The Karate Revolution," a school in Carlisle PA.Jamie stated after the fight that he just didn't have the drive tonight but stated he would be back and is looking for a rematch.Josh Thomas lost a decision on the same card but was happy with his performance and enjoyed the valuable ring experience.Both fighters are schedule to fight again on March 3rd in Plymouth and on March 28th in Delaware.
