Student Profiles! Sometimes we are asked the question, what does it take to become "Student of the Month" or "Student of the Year?" While there are many factors that go into determining the winner, your best bet is to find a way to stand out amongst your classmates. While that does not necessary mean go to tournaments or seminars or extra classes but, it is hard to argue with those that do and work very hard to be successful!

June Student of the month!
August Lane Palchanis
Just a yellow belt with 8 months experience, August has been on fire! In the first half of 2007 August has competed in at least a half dozen tournaments and won her fair share of first places! In June she won the forms Grand Championship at a tournament in Harrisburg. August competes in at least weapons, forms and sparring at every tournament she attends. She has been competing so frequently, she has given herself no choice but to get better from event to event! On July 28th at the Keystone State Games, she won a Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Gold was in sparring making her a legitimate State Champion in fighting!

Kris Lindsey
Some time around September first Mr. Kris Lindsey will finally celebrate 1 year of training at GMA! He started with the Grant's Martial Arts program at Luzerne County community College in the fall semester of 2006. When Mr. Grant offered a handful of students the opportunity to come to the Plymouth school and learn how to kickbox, Kris Took advantage. Kris has been competing in competitive full contact matches since March!
March 3 in Plymouth PA Won by unanimous decision after round 4. This was a bonus round to break a 3 round draw! March 24 in Newark, DE Won by unanimous decision after round 3. May 12 in Mechanicsburg, PA Fought 3 round Draw against undefeated Champion Matt Evans. Kris Knocked him down and seemed to dominate ever single round. June 2 in Plymouth, PA fought an exhibition match against Mark Caserta for Delaware June 23 in Newark, DE Lost his first fight by 2nd round TKO. July 28 in Fleetwood, PA Kris won his comeback match by a unanimous decision in the 3rd round.

John Bonner
This guy has been around for a while! John is a great student who began training over 5 years ago. He took a few years off and even trained at other schools. One thing is for sure he has the most successful comeback ever! John has been competing on the karate circuit every chance he gets. Early this year in March this 14 year old 6'2", 235 pound boy won 2nd place in continuos contact and first place in the black belt adult divisions! Why, there were no competitors at his age so he move up into the adult divisions! He has strung together 4 first place wins in the point fighting divisions, most recently winning a gold medal at the Keystone State Games in York, PA! He also won a gold medal in weapons and a silver in forms!

On July 22, 2007 Mr. Jason Tankson Bourelly visited ours school for a seminar. The topic was figting skills. Mr. Bourelly is a multiple time, I mean like 20 or more time nationall karate champion and fights in Chuck Noriss' World Combat league on Television.
