All information below is for age 7-12 and 13+
Students have 4 months average in between belt ranks. There are 4 more belts in the children’s system; therefore the children’s system takes an average of 48 months to complete and the teens and adults takes an average or 32 months to complete.
Students may advance faster or slower than 48 or 32 months, this is only average.
Students may Test for their Green belt, Brown Belt or Black Belt at anytime as long as they meet their specific rank requirements listed below.
All students must test for their green, brown or black when time dictates it or sooner.
Students who are absent from training for more than 2 months can not advance by even a stripe until the have re-examined for their last major rank – green, brown or black. Example a purple belt can not advance after a 2 month vacation until the green belt test is re taken.
Students who are entering after previous training from another school may keep and wear their belt if they choose to; however, they can not advance until completing each of the major tests at GMA. Example a black belt can not advance until they have completed the green, brown and black belt test at GMA.
